Amazon Prime Video is set to release its highly anticipated action thriller, Citadel: Honey Bunny, on November 7, 2024. The series, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is an offshoot of the global spy franchise Citadel, created by the Russo Brothers.
Citadel: Honey Bunny is set in the 1990s and follows the story of Rahi Gambhir (Bunny), played by Varun Dhawan, and Honey, portrayed by Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The plot revolves around their journey as junior artists who become part of a spy agency to tackle a deadly mission. The series also explores the origin story of Priyanka Chopra’s character, Nadia Sinh, from the US chapter of Citadel.
In an exclusive interview, creators Raj Nidimoru and Sita Menon shared their excitement about subverting the spy genre and bringing their unique storytelling style to the Citadel universe. They emphasized the importance of creating homegrown spies and adding a retro flavor to the series.
